Marriott is the biggest hotel company in the world – employing 177,000 people. Many of these employees are women, people of color, and immigrants.
Last year, these working women fought for and won greater sexual harassment protections in Marriott hotels when they went on strike – but not every worker has those protections.
Marriott continues to mislead the public on the scale and severity of harassment in their hotels. When asked about the number of incidents, Marriott only disclosed the number of formal legal complaints, 44 from 177,000 employees over 5 years. Marriott has refused to disclose how many informal harassment complaints have been made.
We demand that Marriott disclose the REAL number of incidents of harassment and assault in their hotels, engage in dialogue with employees, especially survivors, to create solutions, and implement globally the concrete protections called for by employees.
Sign here to tell Marriott to believe survivors, protect their employees, and tell the truth about their hotels.
