In press highlights, Boston Local 26 got noticed because of their chanting from the picket lines. Residents near the hotel complained and are trying to silence us.
“It’s perfectly within the rights of white millionaires to take legal action to try to silence black and brown working-class people,” said Brian Lang, president of Unite Here 26, the hospitality workers union.
“The Points Guy” published a list of hotels for travelers to visit in order to honor our picket lines. Read it here.
In other news, Measure Z was approved in Oakland. This means that hotel housekeepers in Oakland, like the Local 2850 members who recently settled their strike, get safety buttons and increased workplace protections. Watch the video from Telemundo here.
We’re winning! Let’s keep fighting!
