This weekend Local 2 heads back to the bargaining table. The line remains stronger than ever.
🗣 NO CONTRACT
🗣 NO PEACEHundreds of striking @Marriott hotel workers are ready to march. We’ve been on strike for more than two months, making #MarriottStrike the longest large-scale work stoppage that SF’s hotel industry has seen in decades.#1job pic.twitter.com/PDJrV7eH9Y

On Saturday, workers joined together for a march across San Francisco. Workers were joined by community allies and City Supervisors as they marched through the streets of the city, demanding a fair contract.

Allies continue to rally with us in San Francisco, from supervisors, to activists, to our sisters and brothers in the labor movement:
Standing with the hotel & restaurant workers of @UniteHereLocal2 (& their kids!) to say “one job should be enough!” This fight is about whether we‘ll continue to have a middle class & access to healthcare. Let’s keep up the fight. #1job pic.twitter.com/CVnjHq2kFT

The San Francisco Hotel Council is hosting a toy drive – at one of their striking hotels. The toy drive is being held at the Marriott St. Regis. We can’t make this up:
Giving to families in need is one of our favorite holiday traditions.
But the hotel bosses at @HotelCouncilSF are hosting a toy drive at @Marriott's St. Regis, where workers are on strike because our jobs aren't enough to support our own families.#MarriottStrike #1job pic.twitter.com/Plr4BBUtwh

This week at Starbucks locations across the U.S., we’re letting customers know about the Green Choice program and how accepting freebies from the company hurts housekeepers.
Free @Starbucks is an option offered to guests who decline housekeeping, in a “green” program that puts $ in the pockets of @Marriott, but takes $ out of the pockets of housekeepers. Learn more at https://t.co/pJqHEtq961 pic.twitter.com/VuJlcLZEx8

We’re letting customers know: that free $5 @Marriott hotel lobby @Starbucks coffee is not worth the damage the “green” program is doing to housekeepers.
And it’s not worth giving up on services you’ve already paid for.

Think @Starbucks coffee is bitter?
It sure is to immigrant women who work at @Marriott. Free Starbucks is an option for hotel guests who decline housekeeping services, in a sustainability program that actually HURTS housekeepers.

Free @Starbucks coffee is NOT worth hurting housekeepers!
We’re letting customers know that Starbucks is one of the freebies available to @Marriott guests who use the Green Choice program – which housekeepers report cuts hours & causes pain.
